Biographical details:
1933 Born in Hertford No formal Art School training. I worked initially as an Architect’s Assistant
1964 Began painting professionally
1971 Elected a Member of the Royal Society of Marine Artists
1972 Elected a Member of the Royal Institute of Oil Painters
Currently serve on the Council of both the Royal Society of Marine Artists and the Royal Institute of Oil Painters
Artist's statement:
My main subjects of interest are marine, figure, town and landscape, with particular emphasis on atmosphere and light. I paint alla prima from life, using oils and watercolours.
