Pre-Selection Procedures
This year the PS offers a facility which will allow a selected group of artists to submit their paintings for consideration through a Pre-Selection process. The intention is to help artists reduce their costs both in time and money by allowing them to submit a single photographic image of each painting via a CD-Rom. This will avoid unnecessary journeys to London should their paintings unfortunately not be considered suitable for the PS Exhibition.

The conditions which govern who may submit their work for Pre-Selection are as follows:

Only paintings which exceed 70cms X 70cms total AREA will be eligible. Send one image of each work on a CD in .jpg format, together with your entry form and payment of £10 (payable to 'Federation of British Artists') for each submitted work to arrive at the FBA not later than Friday, 8 January 2010. NO PRINTED PHOTOGRAPHS OR TRANSPARENCIES WILL BE ACCEPTED. YOU MUST ENCLOSE THE APPROPRIATE PAYMENT WITH YOUR CD. Do not hand in the original work. A pre-selection will be made by members of the Council on the basis of your image(s).

PRE-SELECTION DOES NOT IMPLY YOUR WORK HAS BEEN SELECTED FOR THE EXHIBITION. Notification of pre-selected work will be given no later than Monday, 1 February by post. All pre-selected work must be brought to the administrative offices of the Mall Galleries on the 'hand-in' days which are either Friday, 5 February or Saturday, 6 February 2010. The paintings will then be subject to the normal selection process. CDs will not be returned. This facility only applies to 'non-members'.

Should any clarification on this new procedure be required 'ring' either one of the following telephone numbers for assistance; 014 2860 5089 or 020 8642 7783.

If you have no received notification by the 1 February 2010 please contact one of the numbers listed above.
