“Now is the golden age for artist printmakers with new technologies,” says Chris Orr RA, the new chair of Originals, the UK’s most important contemporary print show.

This year, in addition to the many fresh and exciting examples of traditional printmaking processes, the exhibition at the Mall Galleries (25 March to 3 April) includes a growing number of print works exploring new technologies and processes.

Originals is “a truly democratic print show”, comprising work submitted from all four corners of the UK.  This year’s selectors included artists Adrian Bartlett, Paul Catherall, Anne Desmet, Carole Hensher, Chris Orr RA and Frank Tinsley, together with Richard Gault, Director of The Redfern Gallery.  The 2010 show continues its tradition of taking the lead in uncovering new ground-breaking work, produced by exciting contemporary artist printmakers.

Visitors to this year’s show, which will be opened on Wednesday 24 March by the renowned artist and printmaker, Ralph Steadman, can also win one of six beautiful prints offered in a FREE prize draw.
