Wapping Group

This well-known and popular group paint en plein air, meeting every week between April and September to work on location recording the life of London and the Thames.

The exhibition features familiar haunts such as Maidenhead and Richmond up-river, though all of riverside London and out to the estuary locations such as Faversham and Maldon. The members' work is perpetual delight of tideway and riverbank, sunlight and showers, boats and architecture. About 100 works in various media, many completed entirely on location.
