Ben Mowll lives in Canterbury and has been painting for 25 years in both oil and watercolour.
His work is in private collections not only in the UK, but also the USA, Europe, the Middle East and Australia.
He is a member of the Royal Society of Marine Artists and has been awarded the St. Cuthbert's Mill prize and the Buzzacott prize.
The Kent coastline is a source of continual inspiration and travel further afield is a significant feature of his work.
This year he has painted again with Ken Howard OBE, RA in both India and Venice, a particularly favoured painting ground.
Ben has also written for the Artist Magazine.
Ben was elected President of the Royal Society of Marine Artists in October 2018.

Benjamin's primary area of interest is marine and figurative work. While the artist prefers to work from life, the artist may also rely on a mixture of sketches and photographs made on site. He is happy to paint pieces that are similar to an ealier work but is reluctant to produce replicas. Typically a commissioned piece will take 2-3 weeks to complete.
