Ilsa's current work is about thinking and reflection - about the filters we see information through and the contexts we frame our situations in.
She has chosen small scale because shewant the pieces to operate individually with the viewer.
The handling is carefully considered and methodically built up. She is looking for strength and sensitivity.
Ilsa is currently using oils on panel board, painting in carefully built up layers. Occasionally she will use use other materials for textures and different effects. Drawings are made with ball point pen.
Ilsa has been a painter all her life but only recently graduated from a BA Hons (2012) in the UK and a Master’s of Fine Art in New York (2014).
Ilsa has been involved in exhibitions in New York, London, Paris, and Moscow and has paintings in many private collections.
