Lorraine Abraham RSMA (1941 - 2023)
Lorraine works in oil, watercolour and scraperboard. In all media she makes drawings based on observation, and then she constructs the composition. The drawing is a very important part of her work.
Born and educated in Bridgend, Glamorgan, Wales.
National Diploma in Design, Cardiff College of Art.
Art Teacher’s Diploma, School of Education, University of Wales.
Pre- 1975 Full-time teaching including Head of Department posts.
Commissioned work for Glamorgan County Council.
1982-84 Artist Residency in Brussels (Special study of the Shrimpfishing Industry of Oostduinkerke).
1997 Elected associate member of the Royal Society of Marine Artists.
1998 Elected full member of the Royal Society of Marine Artists.
