My practice is at a fledgling stage. I find it challenging to prioritise drawing, painting, and printmaking while living among all the temptations London holds for young people, and being midway through the second year of a Politics degree. When I do art it is often either self-portraits, observational studies, or politically-focused pieces. I'm a strong believer that the art being produced by the citizens of a society (in all mediums and at all levels) is one of the best reflections of contemporary politics, and that art has serious and undervalued potential for driving social change. I feel incredibly lucky to have been selected for In the Studio, and through the project am hoping to gain the confidence to allow me to put my creative practice first, and develop my craft and concepts more fully.
