Tim Goffe studied fine art at Brighton before moving to London and establishing himself as a photographer, working in several industries including film, advertising, publishing, architecture and latterly fine art. After studying with Royal Society of British Artists (RBA) member Colin Orchard Tim Goffe has exhibited his paintings widely and been a prize winner and exhibitor in several prestigious judged shows, recently, The Columbia Threadneedle Prize, ING Discerning Eye, The New English Art Club, The Lynn Painter-Stainers Prize and the RBA Annual Open Exhibition, winning the GordonHulson Memorial Prize for: Draughtsmanship, Variety and Exploration.
Tim Goffe has gained a reputation as an accomplished and collected painter.
His painterly style is a balance of precision and expressive mark-making, has developed from his desire to translate fleeting moments on to the painted canvas.
His choice of subject, coupled with an instinct for composition and expressive handling of paint, result in evocative scenes that imply a narrative but never fully explain themselves.
