From the Draper's series documenting the coastline and harbours of Cornwall. Draper studied at Falmouth College of Arts in the early 1990s and has been drawn back ever since to its rugged land's-end coastline.
Known for his atmospheric and beautiful depictions of landscape the artist is interested in and influenced by the dramatic imagery of Eighteenth and Nineteenth-Century painting. He particularly admires the idea of the contemplation of landscape in the Romantic spirit, found in the work of the German Romantics like Casper David Frederick, the influence of whom can be seen in this work.
