Mall Galleries is proud to offer several art prizes & awards annually

Mall Galleries is home to the Federation of British Artists, a major visual arts charity comprising eight of the country’s leading national art societies.

Each hosts their annual exhibition at Mall Galleries, to which artists are invited to submit works for display alongside members of the societies.

Several prizes and awards are available to win at every annual exhibition, including those below and very many more.

Some of the prizes are specifically for young artists (aged between 18 and 30 or 35), indicated here with an asterisk (*):

The Yoshimoto Prize, worth £1,000 (The Pastel Society)

The Winsor & Newton Award, worth £3,000 (Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours)

The William Lock Portrait Prize, worth £20,000 (Royal Society of Portrait Painters)

The Ondaatje Prize for Portraiture, worth £10,000 (Royal Society of Portrait Painters)

Chris Beetles Gallery Prize for Figurative Art, £2,500 (New English Art Club)

The de Laszlo Foundation Prize, worth £1,500 (Royal Society of British Artists)*

Baltic Exchange Award, worth £2,000 (Royal Society of Marine Artists)

The Birdwatch and Swarovski Optik Artist of the Year Award, a prize of an ATS 80 HD spotting scope with 25-50x zoom eyepiece with a value of £2,430, plus subscription to BirdGuides/Birdwatch (Society of Wildlife Artists)

The Phyllis Roberts Award, worth £2,000 (Royal Institute of Oil Painters)*

The Winsor & Newton Young Artist Awards, £1,000, £600, and £400 worth of Fine Art Materials (Royal Institute of Oil Painters)*
