Our free gallery-based school workshops introduce students to the work of our artists

Our free gallery-based workshops introduce students to the work of our artists, as well as the rich heritage of our building and The Mall. By looking at work produced by contemporary living artists, students will make connections with their own everyday experiences. They will also discover the breadth of future career options available in the cultural sector.

Teachers are welcome to visit the Galleries prior to their workshop and meet up with our Education team. All sessions are offered free of charge and are tailored to meet the individual needs of each group, including SEN students and pupil referral unit groups.

Key Stage 2

Students will become familiar with diverse artistic practices, explore ideas bringing together different disciplines and create their own artwork. Activities are designed to encourage teamwork as well as individual creativity.

Workshops are free of charge.

Key Stage 3 - GSCE  - A-Level

We run a variety of free workshops for KS3, GCSE and A-Level students.  Sessions aim is to encourage students to examine different approaches to artmaking and developing their own artistic practice through discussion and activities.

Workshops are free of charge and dependent on availability.
