Artists' Professional Development

Our 500 member artists are key to developing a dynamic artistic community at Mall Galleries.

Our aim is to support emerging talent, as well as art professionals from all backgrounds.

We collaborate with over 5000 non-member artists as part of our annual exhibitions programme, at the same time as providing university and college students with a better insight into the arts industry.

The annual ‘FBA Futures’ exhibition at Mall Galleries  is the perfect platform for recent art graduates to show their work.  We also offer several annual bursaries and prizes for emerging artists, including The Columbia Threadneedle Prize and a month-long scholarship in Rome by The Royal Society of British Artists.

We are constantly developing new schemes including residency projects, art crits, open forums and networking events in order to help artists and creative practitioners to further their skills and individual practice. If you would like to discuss a partnership with your college, university department or creative network, please contact education@mallgalleries.com

'6 Calls Award'

We have ongoing partnerships with colleges and universities from all over the UK, engaging with art students beyond the gallery setting and becoming part of their everyday art school experience in order to co-develop a wider creative community.  For this purpose, we have introduced the brand new ‘6 Calls Award' offering a set of six free entries to Mall Galleries Open Submission exhibitions to selected BA, MFA and PhD students.

The first ‘6 Calls Award' recipient is Raquel Souza Borges a student from University of Reading, find out more about her work here: raquelsouzaborges.blogspot.co.uk

We would like to thank Ron Hoile for his support towards our young talent initiatives.
