Architecture of Power: Walking Tour with Owen Hatherley
For UK Parliament Week, join Owen Hatherley, writer on Architecture and Politics, for a walking tour from Mall Galleries to the Houses of Parliament at Parliament Square. Owen will discuss the ways in which the exteriors of buildings of Government express what goes on inside, why they look the way they do and how they are meant to make you feel.
UK Parliament Week is an annual festival that engages people from across the UK with Parliament, explores what it means to them and empowers them to get involved.
Sketchbooks and drawing materials will be provided by Seawhite of Brighton, for those who wish to make visual notes and sketch the buildings under discussion.
Meet at 11am at Mall Galleries. The walk will end at Parliament Square.
Owen Hatherley's book A Guide to the New Ruins of Great Britain was published in 2010.
