Quick Poses - Essential Movement and Expression

Luigi Vanzan, Persephone sq.jpg

The aim of this workshop is to allow participants to explore strategies and techniques designed to distil the human figure into its purest, gestural state, and capture essential movement and expression.

This workshop concentrates more on the fluid expression of marks on paper rather than the methodical rendering of the figure.

The first hour is dedicated to warming up: 1-2-3-5-10 min poses, the second hour reverses the timing and culminates in a moving pose.

Luigi Vanzan is a painter/printmaker who has taught life drawing at the Sir John Cass School of Art (now part of Guildhall University) and run portrait workshops at the Lewisham Arthouse.
