Water in the Landscape

Norman-Michael-First-Light-on-the-Grand-Canal

Michael Norman VPPS lives within ten minutes walk of the Exe Estuary and the adjacent South Devon coastline. This is one of the landscape subjects that has inspired him for many years, and still does. He tries to capture the light and atmospheric effects that he sees throughout the year.

He will share the techniques he uses to work up his sketches made on site, in the studio.

Easels and drawing boards will be provided, but students should bring their own materials. The intention is that this should relate to inland subjects which include lakes, rivers or the like. Bring your own sketches or photographs to work from.

You may wish to bring a packed lunch although drinks and snacks are available from the Mall Galleries Café.
