Artist Statement

My hometown, Thessaloniki, Greece, has a particular relation to the sea. If you are from there or even if you are visiting the city you cannot ignore the sea. It is attached to the city in many forms.

A poet that I love from my hometown named Nikos Gavril Pentzikis wrote about the sea and that relationship. He is one of the people that often helps me to see and draw inspiration for my work.

Lady of the Sea comes from all his references to the sea in his poems or prose.
