Description
Wiggen House' sits centrally in the three paintings. The view is what you see if you stand at the corner where Cemetary Rd splits from Boston St here in Sheffield. Though these are distinct to Sheffield these buildings remind me of similar builds across the UK.
Our ability to project personality onto things is fascinating. The framing I've chosen for each tower lends each a distinct character.
It has been unnerving to see my empty depictions of Sheffield become a norm for the city and beyond at various points over the past year.
The 20th March, when the reference image was taken, was also the day I believe I started to show symptoms of COVID, which I at first ignored. By the end of the following day, I was self-isolating. Luckily the illness was like a bad case of flu. For many that has not been the case. Unfortunately, that same day I discovered a friend of mine had passed from COVID.
