By definition, the glaring similarity between the words sanctuary and home might not be very apparent. However, when considering the very essence of what these words mean to us, it is quite impossible to separate the two. While we require our intellectual faculties to navigate our way through this increasingly unpredictable and fast-paced world, I believe our entire focus has shifted towards the attainment of temporal society-driven ideals which are as fickle as they are temporary. This self-reliance has grown into a progressing and incessant imbalance, causing us to lose touch with an integral part of what makes us human - an all-encompassing realm within us, where the emotional and intellectual co-exist in perfect harmony. Our one true centre. A shelter where there is no cause to pause. A refuge where there is rest. Peace. Joy. A place to call home. Our very own sanctuary.
