An unanchored house. Desolation. But also a light and hopeful palette that brings quietness and time to rest. The eye looks for a landmark but finds none and must return to the house. Some windows seem missing and the viewer wonders if those rooms are dark. The flashes of blue are comforting and inviting. The structure is solid in faceless surroundings and offers the chance to stop and consider. Perspective and scale are pushed slightly, not much, but enough to eschew formality. Perhaps the house has been altered in the past as the form is not sure of the outline. The small adjoining building sits awkwardly next to its protective companion. Together they listen to the melody playing out.
