Tina lives in Newbold on Stour and drives the 12 miles each day to Sibford Ferris to take her seven-year-old daughter to school. She often stops with her dog to walk in the inspiring countryside ‘I paint in acrylic mainly using a palette knife and I enjoy using colour and texture to add depth. I began painting last year after a traumatic two years in my life and it continues to be a big part of my healing process. I’ve found it really therapeutic. While lockdown felt oppressive, my painting has given me creative freedom and an appreciation of my surroundings. Being able to see the beauty in the world beyond the fear of the day-to-day has been a great leveller at an uncertain time. I like to paint landscapes and used the view of Sibford as the basis for this painting, heightening the colour and playing with the texture. I’m now going to get it framed and send it to my sister in Canada to remind her of the beautiful Oxfordshire countryside.’
