The Lynn Painter-Stainers Prize was created in 2005 by the Worshipful Company of Painter-Stainers and the Lynn Foundation to encourage the very best creative representational painting and to promote the skill of draughtsmanship.
With prize money of £35,000 - including a First Prize of £20,000, representing a 25% increase in value on last year - the Prize is one of the most prestigious awards available to artists in the UK.
This year’s Judges for the exhibition and prize include Robin-Lee Hall PPRP, President of the Royal Society of Portrait Painters from 2014 to 2017, who paints among other things, portraits, interiors and still lifes, in the ancient medium of egg tempera; and Benjamin Sullivan, a member of both the Royal Society of Portrait Painters and the New English Art Club – the youngest member ever to be elected to either.
