This is the fourth variation I have made of this subject over the last few years. I like the title and the subject matter, which could be a number of places on the east coast. In fact, the place where I most watched Little Terns was affected by a storm surge and pushed the birds' ideal pebble decor a little farther south.
Compositionally, I like the contrast of verticals and horizontals, straight lines and curved forms, the blatant, and the camouflaged. I'm not even sure if this is the last time I will play with these elements. The blends in the ink layers for sea and sky vary slightly from one print to another in the edition.
