The New English Art Club Annual Exhibition is a chance to experience the very best in figurative, observational and painterly work in the UK.
It showcases paintings, drawings and prints from its elected members alongside work by emerging artists whose ethos reflects its own: informed by the visual world and personal interpretation; and underpinned by drawing.
"At a stage where figurative painting is making a huge comeback (the tide has turned), the New English stands in a great position due to its long, rich legacy and keystone principles of drawing. Eclectic but coherent, our Annual Exhibition is a snapshot of the very best work being produced today." - Peter Brown, President of the New English Art Club
Founded in the 19th Century, the New English traces its history through artists as diverse as Stanley Spencer, David Bomberg, Vanessa Bell and Gwen John. More recent exhibitors include Royal Academicians such as Humphrey Ocean, Anthony Green and Anthony Eyton.
Selected members will be stewarding during the exhibition, including Dennis Gilbert NEAC on Friday 14 June (12pm to 2:30pm), Andrew James NEAC RP on Saturday 15 June (12 noon to 5pm), Salliann Putman NEAC on Monday 17 June (12pm to 2:30pm), Paul Gildea NEAC on Thursday 20 June (10am to 12pm), and Benjamin Hope NEAC PS ARSMA on Friday 21 June (2:30pm to 5pm).
NEAC members are also leading workshops during Mall Galleries' Workshop Week 26 to 31 August.
