Part of a series of drawings made on the banks of the Thames before the first lockdown. I remember wanting to draw the way in which the circular forms on the side of the Thames Barrier brought to mind a strange paddle steamer as if it could plough its way downstream. Closer to where I was standing, I noticed a garden fork circling many times in an eddy before the current shifted and it finally made its escape.
