The UK’s foremost showcase for contemporary miniature art, the highly esteemed Royal Miniature Society’s (RMS) annual exhibition comprises around 700 works each within a size limit of 6 by 4 inches.
While the traditional portrait miniature continue unabated, today’s artists incorporate a very broad range of subjects including landscapes, still lifes, interior scenes, birds, animals and stunning pieces of sculpture – each having one endearing feature – exquisite detail. Magnifying glasses are available at the desk to aloow for closer perusal.
Contemporary, highly collectable miniatures remain very affordable – prices starting from £150.
The history of miniature painting goes back over four hundred years, developing from the art of illuminated manuscripts but it has become very much an art form for the twenty-first century.
Demonstrations will be held throughout the exhibition, for further details please visit: www.royal-miniature-society.org.uk
