The Wapping Group meets every Wednesday between April and September to paint outdoors at locations in London and along the River Thames. The Annual Exhibition is a delightful exploration of London and its river - and the year's weather - as experienced by this unique group of artists.

The Wapping Group of Artists was founded in 1946 and initially met to record the busy life of London’s dockland. Since then the Thames, the land either side of it, and the activity related to it have all undergone significant changes. As a result the group now meets to paint at venues anywhere between Henley and the Thames Estuary.

Naturally, the Wapping Group shares many member artists with the Royal Society of Marine Artists and the exhibition includes depictions of the many different types of vessels that sail on the Thames.

There are over 120 works in various media, all for sale.
