Commissioning a house or building portrait is a personalised way to remember a place you love. We’ve commissioned portraits of family houses their owners are moving away from, of a church for the vicarage, of a much-loved clubhouse or a landmark that means something special.

Commissioning a house or building portrait is a personal way to remember a place you love. We’ve commissioned portraits of family houses their owners are moving away from, of a church for the vicarage, of a much-loved clubhouse or a landmark that means something special.

We can help you choose an artist whose strengths are in interiors or exteriors, depending on the view of the house you are after.  We can also match you up with an artist whose style is sensitive to the architecture of the building you want portrayed.

An artist painting a building portrait will normally need to visit the site much like a portrait painter would work from sittings. It is therefore important to think about the time of year in which you would like your building painted and commission an artist around then.

Having an artist painting on-site can be a wonderful experience.  Our clients particularly enjoy sharing what is special to them about their chosen place and watching the artist respond to it in their own visual language.

Watch the video below to hear our commissions consultant Anna Bromwich and artists Melissa Scott-Miller NEAC RP and Toby Ward NEAC talk about commissioning building portraits.
