RSMA Annual Exhibition 2024
Every autumn the Royal Society of Marine Artists stages its annual exhibition at Mall Galleries.
This open exhibition is widely recognised as a showcase for the best in contemporary marine art, with selected work by non-members hung alongside the work of current members.
Britain is an island nation; its frontiers lie where the sea begins. The sea in its power and beauty touches us all, and offers an infinite variety of subjects for the artist's attention.
The whole wide world of the sea is here in this celebration of British marine art - great sailing ships, the darkened waters of war, casual and carefree beach scenes, and images of working vessels on river and ocean.
As a nation there seems to be a national instinct that draws its people to the sea and of course our artists are never far from the sea. The tradition of marine painting includes many of the greatest names in British art. May we think that amongst the artists represented here some may in the future be listed historically as nationally important?
Call for Entries
