Paul Brason RP
Paul Brason was born in London in 1952 and studied at Camberwell College of Art. He is primarily known for his work as a portrait artist and is represented in many public and private collections, including the National Portrait Gallery, the Royal Collection at Windsor Castle, the National Gallery of Scotland, Goodwood House, Eton College and the Bodleian Library, as well as many Oxford and Cambridge Colleges. His sitters have included HRH Prince Philip, HRH Prince Michael of Kent, the Dukes of Westminster and Richmond, Sir Roy Strong, Sir Hugh Casson and Sir Michael Tippett: Lords Leverhulme, Wilson, Morris and many others.
Winner of the Ondaatje Award for portraiture in 1998, he has exhibited regularly at the BP Awards at the National Portrait Gallery, The Royal Academy Summer Exhibition and the Royal Society of Portrait Painters, going on to be elected as president of the latter in 2000.
