Born in 1951
Sarah gained a Dip AD in Graphic Design at Maidstone College of Art and worked as a graphic designer for National Magazines.
Later she worked as a makeup artist and bodypainter for commercial photography and film.
Sarah studied painting at Heatherleys School of Fine Art, and subsequently painted with the Blockley Group. It was during this time that she was introduced to pastel painting.
In 2005 she was elected to The Pastel Society.
Living in South Devon, Sarah draws inspiration from the landscape.
Constantly evolving methods allow her to effectively portray the changing seasons and light with colour and texture. Varied mark making is central to her work.
Sarah works in the studio from sketches and notes made on location.
Paintings are achieved by working on board and layering gesso, acrylic, and finally, pastel.
