Statement

In 1992, I started designing and creating hand made greeting cards. My style was mainly based on painted Indian motifs combined with delicate paper cutting. I developed these concepts further by using the medium of watercolour paintings, often incorporating my unique style of paper cutting. This creates a three dimensional effect within my paintings. I utilise my architectural background to draw ideas for paintings, focusing on Indian as well as Western Architecture. I also make architectural ink drawings.

Methodology

A visit to the site studying and photographing the buildings from all angles in great detail. I then draw a rough sketch to work out the scale and proportion of the building from these images. From this, I start on the final work. I try to get in as much detail as possible so as to bring out the character and architectural style of the building.
