Lyon & Turnbull is pleased to present a dedicated view of our forthcoming Lalique sale at Mall Galleries, offering a rare opportunity to encounter these exceptional works in person.
The sale opens with A Passion for Glass — 48 lots from a distinguished private collection assembled by a London-based collector over more than three decades. Carefully and deliberately formed, the collection reflects a refined and consistent aesthetic, bringing together clear, frosted, stained, opalescent and richly coloured vases, alongside a group of finely crafted boxes.
Beyond this collection, the sale presents a wider survey of Lalique’s artistry. Highlights include notable vases such as a Baies example with rare brown enamelling and an elegant Montargis. A strong selection of boxes features unusual and seldom-seen designs, complemented by a varied group of seals and a selection of jewellery that remains as wearable today as when it was first created. Collectors of tableware will also find pieces suited to immediate use, combining beauty with function.
Particular attention is drawn to a unique enamelled box decorated with dragonflies, as well as exceptional works created using the cire perdue (lost wax) casting method, showcasing intricate foliate designs.
Together, the exhibition offers an intimate and richly varied view into Lalique’s enduring vision and craftsmanship.
