Geoffrey Chatten RBA (1938 - 2025)
Bio
Geoffrey Chatten was born in Norfolk in 1938, and started painting with oils in the 1960s. By the 1980s, Chatten was working at a professional level. With no formal painting instruction, he developed a unique impressionistic technique within his studio.
The personal nature of his paintings captured the essence, feeling and atmosphere of his chosen subject. He was well known for oil paintings of landscapes and seascapes, particularly Norfolk and Suffolk, but also produced still life works, specifically flowers such as bluebells, iris, tulips and daffodils.
Geoffrey became a full member of the Royal Society of British Artists in 1995.
