Statement

The catalyst of Prasad Beaven’s art is his spiritual aspiration for truth. Growing up in the Himalayan foothills left a lasting imprint on his perception of nature, in particular mountains.

According to many Eastern philosophies, mountains symbolise the connection between the earthly realm and the higher, divine realm. The peak is also used to represent the apex of spiritual experience by which one achieves enlightenment and the attainment of higher spiritual states.

Prasad often uses this concept either to depict the ascent of the individual towards enlightenment or the descent of heavenly beings to restore harmony and order to earth.

In a time fraught with conflict and materialism, Prasad wishes to emit this feeling of peace in society and redirect one’s values towards a higher purpose. A transformation where the pursuit of harmony and altruism supersedes the pursuit of power and wealth, fostering a society grounded in empathy, wisdom, and respect for one another.
