Transforming the galleries into an immersive, story-led environment, the exhibition brings together painting, illustration and installation to create a living world shaped by memory, imagination and family life. Drawing from Huaicun’s picture books, including The Red House and The Garden of Xiaoxianzi, the exhibition unfolds as a series of interconnected spaces—part exhibition, part story, part home.
Visitors are invited not only to view the works, but to step inside them. Through carefully constructed scenes, tactile environments and narrative details, Home Sweet Home offers an experience that resonates across generations, where children, families and art audiences alike can find moments of recognition, warmth and reflection.
At its core, the exhibition explores a simple yet universal idea: that “home” is not only a place we live in, but a feeling we carry within us.
