The 15th edition of Lyon & Turnbull's MODERN MADE brings together an exceptional selection of Modern British art, European Modernism, furniture, lighting, photography, craft and studio ceramics, spanning the early twentieth century to today.
At its heart are several distinctive collections, including Modern British art and studio ceramics from the collection of Tom Alexander, pioneering furniture by Gerald Summers from the collection of Leonard and Dorothy Elmhirst, and post-war lighting by John and Sylvia Reid.
The sale also explores the influence of European émigré artists and designers on British cultural life, with works by Lucie Rie, Hans Coper, Dorothy Bohm and Peter Potworowski.
Fine art highlights include Cedric Morris's Experiment in Red, returning to Britain after more than half a century, alongside important works by Paul Nash, Victor Pasmore, Picasso, Delvaux and Marquet. Paolo Scheggi's Zone Riflesse captures the spirit of MODERN MADE, celebrating the connections between art, design and craft.
