Pastel Society | Annual Exhibition 2026
Welcome to the annual exhibition of the Pastel Society: a rich and diverse showcase of artists who draw upon the traditions and possibilities of pastel.
Displaying work from established members and those recently elected, alongside accomplished artists from an open call, this show surveys the contemporary use of pastel and dry media. Exhibited works demonstrate a great breadth of styles and subject matter in pastel, pencil, charcoal, crayon, chalk, and more.
The Pastel Society invites you to join in their annual celebration of contemporary art, made by living practitioners who are connected through shared passion and vigour for pastel and dry media.
Direct Touch
For 2026, a particular focus is the theme of Direct Touch. As the Society says, 'The joy of dry media is its ability to transmit feelings through the hand directly onto paper. The touch is evident and powerful.'
The Studio
Visitors are invited to try their hand at pastel and dry media during various events at The Studio in the East Gallery.
Become a Friend
